An English National Opera's collaboration with Theatre Complicite, Special Project Solutions was called in to oversee the scenic automation of the show during its transition from De Nederlandse Opera. The centre piece of the set is a large wall that is supported on a truss structure, the wall tracks up and down stage and tilts on its centre axis creating each new scene of the show.
As the original automation solutions were not an option at the Historic Coliseum; Tim Roffey of Special Project Solutions devised a combined system using Chain Master variable speed electric chain hoist to twist & tilt the wall and bespoke winches to track it up and down stage – all controlled by Kinesys Elevation 1+ drives and Vector software providing a system without complication which could be operated with ease by trained venue personnel.
