We were tasked with the challenge of providing a solution to allow decorations to be installed across Red Lion Street in Aylsham, normally this would be quite straight forward; but this particular street is a double-decker bus route and the houses that line the street are lower than the buses! In order to get around this we had to develop a bracket that extended far enough to clear the guttering of the buildings, and then reach upward high enough to allow the bottom of the decorations to clear the top of the buses with a suitable factor of safety.
All this may seem simple... but when you consider the lever effect the weight of the decoration has on the bracket and the need to disperse the load through old brickwork this solution becomes a balancing act of forces.
